A strong but short-term cold snap will hit Ukraine today, December 13. Particularly low temperatures are expected at night, when thermometers may drop to -14°. This was reported by well-known Ukrainian weather forecaster Natalka Didenko.
She explained that the decrease in temperature in Ukraine is due to the movement of fresh air masses of Arctic origin.
“The air temperature will drop to -6…-12 degrees at night, on the night of December 14, probably to -14 degrees in places,” she predicted.
In the afternoon, according to Natalka Didenko, -2…-7 degrees are expected.
"Strong winds will increase the feeling of cold below by a few degrees. Dress both warmer and thicker," the weather expert advised.
However, this cooling will not last long. As early as December 15, says Natalka Didenko, the air mass will begin to change, and on the 16th it will warm up to a thaw. At the same time, wind and humid air will dominate.
Bad weather in the Carpathians
This morning the temperature in the Carpathians had already dropped to +14°. The wind is also blowing in the highlands, and visibility is limited due to fog and cloud cover. Rescuers also published a photo from the summit, which shows that everything around is covered in snow.
