On Friday, February 20, a noticeable cold snap is expected in Ukraine. At night, the air temperature will drop to -5°…-11°, in places the thermometer will drop to -13°. During the day, a slight “minus” will prevail, but in the southern regions, in the southeast and in Transcarpathia, the air will warm up to plus values.
According to forecasters, precipitation in the form of snow, sleet, and rain is possible in the central and eastern regions, depending on temperature indicators. In other regions, cloudy weather with clearings will prevail.
In Kyiv, cloudy weather with clearings is forecast. At night, the temperature will drop to -12°, and during the day it is expected to be around -2°. In the western regions, it will also be frosty: in Lviv at night -8°, during the day -1°; in Lutsk and Rivne up to -13° at night and around -2° during the day; in Ternopil and Khmelnytskyi - up to -10° at night and -2° during the day. In Ivano-Frankivsk -8° at night, during the day -1°.
In Transcarpathia, the situation will be milder: in Uzhhorod at night -2°, during the day up to +5°, rain and sleet are possible. In Chernivtsi at night -8°, during the day -1°. In Vinnytsia, -9°…-2° is forecast, in Zhytomyr and Chernihiv at night up to -13°, during the day about -2°…-3°.
In the central part of the country, in particular in Cherkasy, snow is expected at a temperature of -9° at night and -2° during the day. In Kropyvnytskyi, -7° at night, -1° during the day, light snow. In Poltava, cloudy and snowy, temperature -8°…-2°.
In the south, temperatures will be higher. In Odessa, it will be -2° at night, up to +5° during the day. In Mykolaiv, it will also be around +5° during the day, and in Zaporizhia, it will be up to +6°. At the same time, in Kherson, it is expected to be -6° during the day, despite a relatively warm night with temperatures around -2°.
In the east of the country, in Sumy at night -13°, during the day -3°. In Kharkiv at night -7°, during the day about 0°, wet snow and rain are possible. In Dnipro at night -4°, during the day up to +4°, snow is expected. In Kramatorsk and Severodonetsk it will be cloudy, at night -5°…-6°, during the day +2°…+4°.
Light wet snow is forecast in Simferopol, and the temperature will range from +1° to +11°.
Overall, February 20 will bring winter coolness to Ukraine, precipitation in the center and east, as well as a temperature contrast between the northern and southern regions.
