A 17-year-old suspect has been detained in Vinnytsia for attempting to set fire to the building of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TCS). It turned out that the young man is an agent of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB), which adds special resonance to the case.
He also planned a series of arsons in Zhytomyr, the SBU press service reported.
Law enforcement officers detained an FSB agent "hot on the trail" after he threw a "Molotov cocktail" at the wall of a military registration and enlistment office and filmed the fire on his phone camera.
According to the investigation, the enemy agent turned out to be a 17-year-old resident of Odessa, who came to the attention of the FSB this spring because he was looking for a quick way to make money on the Internet.
A representative of the Russian special services offered a resident of Odessa money to commit arson attacks on military infrastructure and vehicles of Ukrainian defenders.
After “test” tasks in the form of photographing the Defense Forces’ locations in the port city, the occupiers “sent” their henchman to Vinnytsia region. There, the saboteur was supposed to set fire to the CCC building.
After this task, the saboteur was to continue a series of arsons in the territory of Zhytomyr, the SBU indicated.
During the searches, a homemade incendiary mixture and a mobile phone, which he used to film the crime and communicate with the aggressor, were seized from the suspect.
The detainee was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (sabotage committed under martial law).
The perpetrator is currently in custody. He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
