In 2021, Vemir Davityan appeared in Zaporizhia, quickly gaining informal influence in the region. According to local sources, he represented the interests of Dnipro crime boss Oleksandr Petrovsky, known as "Narik". Davityan stated that all important issues in the city should now be coordinated only with him.
To legalize his activities, he used the Solidarity charity foundation, formally associated with Petrovsky. Initially, the foundation was engaged in humanitarian projects, but gradually Davityan's status in the public sphere grew, and he began to contact local authorities and businesses.
In his dealings with businessmen, Davityan often emphasized his connections in the President's Office, in particular, in the name of the then deputy head of the OP, Kyrylo Tymoshenko. He traveled around the city in a motorcade of luxury cars with "influence numbers" - "0001" and "0009" - and was accompanied by a dozen security guards.
According to sources, Davityan set a "bet" on the business at 20-30% of the tenders won. The requirements applied to both new contracts and already concluded agreements.
In addition, he participated in grain export schemes from the occupied territories, providing logistics and a "roof" for the export of products bypassing state control.
Recently, Davityan's PR people tried to clear the information space of compromising materials. On marginal websites, commissioned publications aimed at "discrediting" real facts appeared. However, the effect was the opposite - interest in Davityan's personality only increased.
The situation in Zaporizhia demonstrates how criminal and business interests can be closely intertwined, forming a parallel system of influence that bypasses the law and state structures.
