In Kyiv, law enforcement officers detained a young man who started a fight and sprayed tear gas in a metro car. The incident occurred on December 19 at around 10:20 p.m. at the Tarasa Shevchenko station on the blue line of the metro, Kyiv police reported.
According to law enforcement, the offender — a 19-year-old resident of the capital — was intoxicated in the carriage, acting impudently and clinging to passengers. When one of the passengers made a remark to him, the young man provoked a fight and sprayed irritant gas in the man's face.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the police and criminal analysis specialists, the attacker was found and detained.
Upon the fact of the incident, investigators entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism. A report of suspicion is currently being prepared. The detainee faces up to seven years in prison.
