The Ukrainian government's plans to increase excise rates on diesel and gasoline are causing serious outrage among small and medium-sized businesses. The head of the Association of Small and Medium-sized Business Owners, Ruslan Sobol, has made statements warning of the possible consequences of such a decision.
In addition, according to the expert, such an increase will affect prices, so, as a result, all Ukrainians will have to pay more.
"The consequences of the excise tax increase are very simple. Business cannot subsidize the production of products or services. Therefore, in the end, as always, you and I will pay for these increases - as end consumers, as citizens. We must realize that everything that is happening is not somewhere out there for business or for the military. You and I will simply pay a little more. We will live a little worse. We will tighten our belts a little tighter," Sobol explained.
According to him, this increase will certainly affect business, because it is quite difficult to operate now even without a tax increase.
"Someone will survive, and someone will leave the market and be forced to disband teams. This will increase the burden on the labor market and increase unemployment. These are the consequences that can occur," he summarized.
