The Institute of National Remembrance plans to exhume the victims of the Volyn tragedy

The Institute of National Remembrance of Ukraine announced plans to conduct a search for the victims of the Volyn tragedy in the Rivne region next year. This decision was a response to the requests of Polish citizens who wish to honor the memory of their relatives who died during the tragedy.

Poles are urged to give more specific information where possible to look for the remains of their ancestors. They are also invited to join this process as observers.

But they immediately emphasize that "the efficiency of the implementation of search operations will depend on the available resources", since the number of specialists is limited and they are involved in the search and exhumation of war victims.

We will remind you that Poles have recently begun to talk more and more often about the need to exhume the victims of the Volyn tragedy and, according to the media, were even ready to use this topic in the negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU.
