iPhone users are reporting battery issues after installing the latest major iOS 26 update, released in September. The most common complaint is excessive device overheating.
Smartphone owners report that after playing games or even just surfing social media, their iPhone gets so hot that an animation appears on the screen that all functions are locked. Access to the device is restored only after it cools down. Some users even try to cool the smartphone in the freezer.
High temperatures have been known to cause batteries to swell, requiring repairs. Users have also reported connectivity issues, with iPhones showing full signal strength but not receiving calls or receiving mobile data.
The previous update caused a wave of criticism due to the change in design to Liquid Glass, but now the problems have turned out to be more serious and technical, affecting battery life and communication functions. Users are advised to temporarily limit the load on the smartphone and wait for fixes in future updates.
