In Ukraine, during martial law, men liable for military service must adhere to military registration rules, including having appropriate documents. After the launch of the "Reserve+" application, many wondered whether it would replace paper documents.
Oleksandra Kapitula, a lawyer at the Murenko, Kuryavy & Partners law firm, explained in a comment to RBC-Ukraine that the electronic military registration document in Reserve+ does not cancel or replace paper ones, but only provides an alternative option.
According to her, from June 18, 2024, in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 559, an electronic document in "Reserve+" is equated in legal force to a paper document. This means that they have the same validity and are mandatory for acceptance by all authorized bodies.
The document can be issued in two forms:
-
electronic – through your personal account in "Rezerv+";
-
paper - on an official form.
The electronic version is verified via a QR code. However, paper documents remain in circulation and may be required.
The Chapter emphasized: "Reserve+" is a modern digital tool that makes life easier for citizens, but does not eliminate classic documents.
