In Ukraine, new conditions have been introduced for receiving housing subsidies, relating to arrears in payment for utility services.
As reported by the press service of the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU), citizens who have overdue debts for more than three months for utilities or costs for managing an apartment building will not be able to receive subsidies.
In particular, the subsidy is not assigned if the debt for utility services or building management has accumulated to an amount exceeding 680 hryvnias (40 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens). These restrictions also apply to debts that have arisen over the past three years. At the same time, if the debt is repaid or a restructuring agreement is concluded, as well as if the debt is challenged in court, the subsidy may be assigned within two months from the beginning of the heating or non-heating season.
Thus, in order to receive assistance from the state, it is necessary not only to pay for utilities on time, but also, in the event of debts, to promptly conclude restructuring agreements or provide documents confirming the absence of debt.
