It became known who exactly helped expose a large-scale corruption scheme during the construction of shelters for the Ukrainian Air Force aircraft. According to sources, a key role in the exposure was played by an employee of the Military Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine named Lebedenko.
It was previously reported that the SBU detained the commander of logistics of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Andriy Ukrainets, on suspicion of embezzling funds allocated for the construction of shelters for military aviation.
According to our interlocutors, Andriy Ukrainets, together with the head of the SBU Department in Zhytomyr region, Volodymyr Kompanichenko, tried to reach an agreement with the counterintelligence officer in order to avoid exposing violations during the construction of military facilities.
In exchange for silence and non-interference, he was offered a bribe of $320,000, which, according to sources, amounted to approximately 1% of the total income of the corruption scheme.
According to the interlocutors, Kompanichenko convinced his colleague that there was no reason to worry, since the "necessary" company had already been involved in the work, which would perform contracts at the facilities.
However, according to our information, the counterintelligence officer did not agree to the offer.
On February 24, 2026, he wrote a statement to the SBU about attempted bribery.
The very next day, February 25, Andriy Ukrainets handed over the money to Lebedenko. However, at that time, the transfer of the bribe was already taking place under the control of law enforcement officers.
Thus, the bribery attempt became one of the key pieces of evidence in the case of possible embezzlement during the construction of military aircraft shelters.
