Kellogg: Ukraine cannot be given territories because it will be almost impossible to return them

Achieving peace in Ukraine is impossible without a ceasefire. And Russian dictator Vladimir Putin realizes that if he agrees to this step, it will be difficult for him to return to active hostilities. This was stated by US President Donald Trump's special representative for Ukraine, General Keith Kellogg, in an interview with Lord Michael Ashcroft.

Kellogg stressed that he personally believes that a ceasefire is the best option, but Donald Trump is seeking to achieve a full peace agreement. "Putin doesn't want that, he still thinks he can win militarily. But I don't think so," the general emphasized.

According to him, Russian troops have almost completely occupied the Luhansk region and are seeking to capture all of Donetsk. At the same time, Ukraine cannot give up its territories, as it will be almost impossible to return them in the future.

Kellogg also emphasized the moral dimension of the war: " This is a confrontation between good and evil. Putin is not a good guy. What he is doing is cruel and terrible ."

The general added that the current leaders of Europe - German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk - already perceive Russia as an existential threat, although they did not recognize this a few years ago.

He also commented on Moscow's nuclear threats: " Putin says this to scare people: 'I am a nuclear power.' So what? There are also three on our side - France, Britain and the USA ."
