Jerry Heil submitted a song about kidnapped Ukrainian children for a Grammy Award

Famous Ukrainian singer Jerry Heil submitted her song “All Eyes On Kids” to one of the most prestigious music awards in the world — the 2025 Grammy Awards. Having become a member of the Recording Academy, the artist decided to use this opportunity to draw international attention to the tragedy that the Ukrainian people are experiencing due to the war.

In the song “All Eyes On Kids,” Jerry Heil talks about one of the most painful themes of the war — the deportation of Ukrainian children by Russia. The main character of the video for the song is 14-year-old Kira Obedinska, who was kidnapped by the occupiers from Mariupol and taken to Donetsk. Her story has become a symbol of the struggle for the return of Ukrainian children home, because the girl was rescued and returned to Ukraine.

Jerry Heil said that the decision to submit this song to the Grammys was dictated by the desire to draw the attention of the international community to the problem of abducted children, which, in her opinion, is not sufficiently covered in the world media.

“The topic of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia is raised too little in the infosphere, it deserves international publicity, and the Grammys are one of the best ways to achieve this!” the singer wrote on her Instagram.

Jerry Heil also called on Ukrainians abroad and foreigners to support her track and spread the word about this important issue. She noted that the song has already begun to resonate outside of Ukraine: foreigners are actively using the hashtag #AllEyesOnKids on Twitter, discussing the issue of kidnapped Ukrainian children.

Jerry Heil emphasized that it was important for her not only to create a track with a good sound, but also to raise a topic that hurts her and her people. The singer sought to make the composition not only emotional, but also one that would make listeners move to the rhythm and listen to it again and again.

“If you, as an artist from Ukraine, are going on a big stage, you have to raise issues that concern your people,” added Jerry Heil.

Now the main goal for the singer is to get the track on the Grammy Award longlist, as well as further spreading information about the tragedy of Ukrainian children among foreigners.
