Two-time world judo champion Darya Bilodid is not included in the Ukrainian national team for the European Championship, which will be held from April 23 to 27 in Montenegro. The list of participants was published by the International Judo Federation, and the name of the 24-year-old from Kyiv is not on it.
The Ukrainian team will include: Artem Lesyuk (60 kg), Nazar Viskov (66 kg), Said-Magomed Khalidov (73 kg), Vladislav Kolobov (81 kg), Anastasia Antipina (63 kg), Hanna Oliynyk-Korniyko and Olga Tsymko (70 kg), Yulia Kurchenko (78 kg), Ruslana Babynska (78 kg), Anton Savytskyi (100 kg), Yakiv Hammo and Yevheniy Balevskyi (over 100 kg).
The reasons for Bilodid's absence have not been officially commented on yet. At the same time, it is worth noting that the athlete recently made her unexpected debut in football - as part of the Metalist-1925 women's team in a match of the Ukrainian Premier League.
Darya spent a few minutes on the field, had a chance to score, but after the game she admitted that she was dissatisfied with herself, at the same time thanking her teammates for their support and emphasizing: “This is a new and valuable experience of team play.”.
