A new electricity tariff for the population will come into effect in Ukraine from June 1, 2024. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to establish a single price for electricity without differentiation based on the level of consumption.
The new price will be UAH 4.32 per kWh.
The current price is 2.64 UAH/kWh. That is, the increase will be 1.6 times.
Moreover, there will be no tariff differentiation depending on the volume of consumption from 100 kWh, as previously reported by the media.
Thus, the increase will affect the entire population of Ukraine.
During the heating period (from October 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025), a preferential tariff is provided for consumers who use electric heating installations, at the level of 2.64 UAH/kWh (if they consume up to 2,000 kWh of electricity per month during this period), the Ministry of Energy said
At the same time, the "night tariff" (with an appropriate dual-zone meter installed) will be 2.16 UAH per kWh.
"Those who cannot afford to pay for electricity services at the new tariff will receive assistance from the state - targeted subsidies," the Minister of Energy emphasized.
With an average monthly electricity consumption of 170 kWh, the electricity bill will increase by 285 UAH.
