The Cabinet responded to a petition for raising teachers' salaries: money is only enough for the army

According to the official statement of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the government cannot increase wages to teachers because of limited finances, which are currently aimed solely to meet the needs of the army. The statement was made in response to a petition that gained the necessary 25,000 votes.

The government emphasized that teachers are already receiving a variety of surcharges, but raising salaries will require significant costs from budgets of all levels, which in martial law is problematic. Now all budget revenues are aimed at the needs of the country's security and defense forces.

Despite this, the Cabinet states that it plans to gradually increase the salaries of teachers, including those who work in general secondary education institutions. This will happen in stages when the economic situation will provide a stable financial flow, which will not harm the defense needs of the state.
