Magnetic storm calendar for October 2024: the most dangerous dates

According to meteorologists, several magnetic storms will occur on the Sun in October, the effects of which will be felt on Earth. Meteorologists say that they will be of varying intensity at the beginning, middle and end of the month.

When should we expect magnetic storms in October?

  • October 3-4 — weak magnetic storm;
  • October 5-6 — a powerful magnetic storm;
  • October 17 - a magnetic storm of medium strength;
  • October 22-26 — weak magnetic storm.

What is a magnetic storm?

Magnetic storms are the reaction of the magnetosphere to sudden shocks and pressure from the solar wind. The Earth's magnetic shield simply begins to tremble and oscillate due to solar flares, which affects the entire Earth's field and, accordingly, people. They last from several hours to several days, and their intensity directly affects our well-being and mood.
