German Chancellor Olaf Scholz made an important statement, calling on Ukrainian refugees to integrate into the German labor market as soon as possible. He emphasized that for Ukrainians with highly qualified specialties, it is important not only to find a job, but also to overcome bureaucratic obstacles that delay the process of obtaining a work permit.
"It cannot be that out of 2,000 doctors, only 120 have a permit," said Scholz.
He added that thanks to accelerated employment procedures, the number of working Ukrainians has increased to more than 200,000. "But several hundred thousand people who came from Ukraine were added," the chancellor said.
He called on Ukrainians to go for part-time employment or to lower their qualifications, if the permits for the main specialty have not yet been received.
"It's okay if you can't start the job you're eligible for right away, or you can only work part-time to begin with...Certificates can be obtained later," Scholz said.
