Ukraine was once again in the spotlight due to a high-profile corruption scandal. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has announced an investigation into a case involving the head of one of the state bodies. It is known that this official, while serving as the head of one of the regional state administrations, allegedly illegally enriched himself by more than 56 million hryvnias.
The name of the official is not indicated in the investigation. However, the mass media report that it is about the head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine, Pavlo Kyrilenko, who previously headed the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
In 2020-2023, while holding the post of head of Donetsk OVA, Kyrylenko purchased 21 real estate objects and a luxury car, registering the property in the name of his wife's relatives.
Among the illegally acquired:
▫️7 apartments in Kyiv and Uzhgorod with a total area of 688.5 square meters. m;
▫️a house near Kyiv with an area of more than 220 square meters. m;
▫️2 garage boxes;
▫️6 parking spaces;
▫️3 non-residential premises with a total area of more than 190 square meters. m;
▫️ BMW X3 car.
The purchased property was not indicated in Kyrylenko's declarations for 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023.
