Mykola Knyazevich, Head of the Department of International Interaction of the State Customs Service, declared UAH 1.25 million in cash, despite the fact that his official salary for 2024 was only UAH 918 thousand. This is evidenced by his annual declaration, which attracted the attention of journalists.
The official is registered in Lviv, but indicated the address for correspondence of the apartment in Kiev. This may indicate that he lives in the capital, probably because of his duties. However, he did not mention the family members in his declaration.
Among the declared property is a small apartment in Lviv with an area of 29.6 square meters, which it acquired in 2017 for 409 thousand hryvnias. In addition, he has a fraction in a much more spacious apartment by 104.6 square meters, which he shares with Yulia Knyazevich and Alla Pushinskaya.
In Kiev, however, an official renting an apartment of more than 83 square meters. The owner of the dwelling is Lesya Rybinsk. However, the cost of the lease Knyazevich in his declaration did not indicate that it raises additional questions about the transparency of his expenses.
As for the fleet, Mykola Knyazevich uses the BMW X3 car 2018, which is registered with another Knyazevich - Mykola Mikhailovich. He also owns a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, purchased in 2020 as modest, as for this class of a car, 330 thousand hryvnias.
All these wealth and assets look particularly interesting against the background of a salary of a civil servant. Declaration of more than a million cash in the official salary of less than one million hryvnias raises natural issues about the sources of such savings. Moreover, the declaration does not contain information about additional sources of income, business or family transfers.
The question remains whether this declaration will become the object of interest of anti -corruption bodies, whether it will be focused again, as well as dozens of other similar stories at the Ukrainian Customs.
