The municipal enterprise "Kyivmisksvitlo" plans to carry out a large-scale renovation of outdoor lighting networks in the Pechersk district of the capital. Outdated mercury and sodium lamps will be replaced with modern energy-efficient LED lamps. Currently, project documentation is being prepared for work on a number of streets, including Lavrska, Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard, Knyaziv Ostrozkyh, General Almazov, Mechnikova and Klovsky Uzviz.
According to announcements in the Prozorro public procurement system, two auctions are scheduled to be held on June 30 to select a developer of design documentation. UAH 1 million has already been allocated for the overhaul of outdoor lighting networks on Lavrska Street. In addition to replacing the fixtures, the project provides for the renovation of architectural and decorative lighting of such iconic objects as the Church of All Saints, the Trinity Gate Church of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, the Memorial to the Memory of Afghan Warriors, and the monument to Nestor the Chronicler.
Another 1 million hryvnia is allocated for the design of lighting replacement within Lesya Ukrainka Boulevard, Knyaziv Ostrozkyh, General Almazov, Mechnikov, and Klovsky Uzviz streets. The total deadline for the development of design and estimate documentation is October 30, 2025.
The works are being financed from the budget of the city of Kyiv, in particular through the Department of Transport Infrastructure. After the documentation is completed, the estimated cost of the works will be determined and the major repairs will begin.
Lighting upgrades will not only improve the quality of street light, but will also ensure energy efficiency, reduce electricity costs, and improve safety on roads and near iconic cultural sites.
