The Kinburn Peninsula continues to serve as a base for attacks on civilians and obstruction of the Mykolaiv ports, said Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the press center of the Southern Defense Forces.
“The enemy continues to shell the opposite bank of the Dnieper-Bug estuary, especially actively targeting the water area. This is their strategy – to terrorize this area in order to prohibit the Mykolaiv ports from functioning,” she said.
Also, according to Gumenyuk, the enemy from time to time uses drones, such as FPV or "Lancet", to shell civilians.
Previously, the South Command stated that it was difficult for Russian troops to hold positions on the Kinburn Spit due to the complex geography and landscape of the peninsula.
According to the Mykolaiv OVA, over the past 24 hours, the Russian army has twice shelled the waters of the Ochakiv community. The incidents occurred at 5:31 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. and, fortunately, there were no casualties.
