According to a survey by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS), President Volodymyr Zelensky remains the most trusted politician in Ukraine. In May 2025, 74% of citizens trust him, which is 10% more than in February last year.
The study also found a noticeable decline in trust in other public figures, including some politicians who until recently enjoyed significant support.
Who is trusted the most?
Apart from Volodymyr Zelensky, only TV presenter Serhiy Prytula has a positive balance of trust – 50% of Ukrainians trust him, 38% do not. Despite this, Prytula's indicators have fallen: in February 2024, 61% trusted him, and the balance of trust was +28%. Now it is only +12%.
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko maintains a stable, albeit negative balance: 43% trust, 47% distrust (balance -4%).
Falling ratings
Trust in Petro Poroshenko has dropped significantly - from 31% to 25%, while distrust has increased to 70%, which gives him one of the worst balances - -45%.
Only 14% trust Yulia Tymoshenko, 80% do not trust her (balance -66%).
The worst indicators are:
-
Oleksiy Arestovych – 7% trust, 79% distrust, balance -72%
-
Yuriy Boyko – 7% trust, 72% distrust, balance -65%
-
Yevhen Murayev – 6% trust, 47% distrust, balance -41%, while 43% do not know who he is at all.
Who is losing recognition?
Interestingly, the proportion of those who do not know Dmytro Razumkov in the survey increased from 27% to 34%. Trust in him fell from 35% to 27%, and the balance from positive (+2%) became negative (-5%).
Also, some of the respondents stopped identifying Arestovych - 10% of them did, although a year ago there were only 4%.
Who was not in the ranking?
The KIIS list does not include former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny, whom many sociological centers previously included in similar surveys.
Survey methodology
The survey was conducted from May 2 to 12, 2025 among 1,010 respondents across the entire territory of Ukraine, excluding occupied areas. The margin of error does not exceed ±3.4%.
The general trend shows: public support for Zelensky is growing, while trust in other politicians is falling or remaining at a low level, even among traditional leaders of the pre-war era.
