The Korea Herald , citing South Korean intelligence, reports that North Korea is providing its soldiers and workers to participate in the war in Ukraine. According to the information, the North Korean military is promised to be paid about $2,000 per month, while the workers will receive $800 each.
This is significantly higher than the average income of North Korean citizens and may motivate some to participate in the war.
The country will also receive about 600,000 tons of rice to partially cover its million-dollar production deficit. And possibly advanced space technology to launch its reconnaissance satellite.
But experts believe that the “sweet spot” that North Korea could get from the deal is the ability to force Russia to fight on its side in the event of unforeseen circumstances on the Korean Peninsula.
And Russia will try to use the DPRK as a "bargaining coin" in negotiations with the US.
