The wife of the former head of the Sambir district TCC and JV, Iryna Babich, who works in a local hospital and earns less than 100,000 hryvnias per year, made impressive investments in real estate. According to her declaration, within three years she bought five apartments in Lviv, two storage rooms, two parking spaces, and one apartment in Kyiv. It is also known that the former head of the Sambir district TCC and JV, Serhii Babich, and his relatives also actively invested in real estate and cars, according to their declarations.
It should be noted that Iryna Babich purchased a certain part of the property, in particular apartments and land plots, at a significantly reduced price, which raises certain questions. She made purchases for three years, and during this time the couple also registered several plots of land.
In recent years, the financial condition of the Babichy family has improved significantly, especially the increase in their income in 2023. However, their income and acquired property raised the suspicions of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NACP), which led to the dismissal of Serhiy Babich from his post.
After the divorce in 2023, information about the Babichys' property became the subject of legal disputes, but the court decided not to distribute their property. It is also interesting that among the other people who bought property from this family, there are entrepreneurs Ivan Simeon and Mykhailo Kachor.
It is worth noting that similar cases of excessive enrichment have also been recorded in other regions of Ukraine, in particular, in the case of the deputy head of the Odesa Regional Territorial Center for Procurement, Denys Galushka, who is accused of illegal enrichment.
