Volodymyr Yatsenko, the former deputy chairman of the board of PrivatBank, continues to attract attention thanks to his legal battles and new ambitions. As a former top manager of a financial institution, Yatsenko is constantly at the center of scandals and court proceedings related to large-scale financial fraud.
After UAH 8.2 billion was withdrawn from PrivatBank, Yatsenko tried to cover his tracks, trying to avoid responsibility. Recently, it became known that he is trying to seize control of the Boryvazh grain terminal, which may become a new stage in his attempts to return to large financial platforms.
Yatsenko, like many other former officials of PrivatBank, had numerous legal battles. He initially tried to prove that he and the bankrupt Ingosstrakh insurance company Boryvazh were not related to PrivatBank, hoping to avoid responsibility for the withdrawal of funds. Jurisprudence has shown that the Supreme Court refused this request.
In addition, Yatsenko tried to challenge the nationalization of the bank, but later abandoned this idea. Another interesting aspect of his legal history concerns his attempt to escape to Vienna for treatment. The State Aviation Service of Ukraine did not allow him to leave the country, which led to long court battles. At first, Yatsenko won the case about the illegality of changing the flight route, but later the courts confirmed the legality of the aviation service's actions.
Another important moment in Yatsenko's court history was the discovery of a special chat in the messenger, where he tried to organize the escape of a bank representative who could have compromising information. This became part of the investigation into the withdrawal of funds from PrivatBank.
Recently, Yatsenko also tried to return the deposit of more than UAH 52 million made for him by "FINTECH BEND" (monobank), promising to use these funds for the production of the Dovbush UAV. However, the judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court (VAKS) did not believe in his intentions.
