The State Bureau of Investigation detained the former Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Economic Court of Ukraine Arthur Yemelyanov. According to the investigation, he tried to avoid criminal liability and leave the territory of Ukraine after changing the measure of restraint.
According to the DBR, the person involved, using ties in the judiciary, has established communication with the judge of the High Anti -Corruption Court. This judge, contrary to established legal practice, returned the prosecutor's request for continuing detention, declaring him a valid Wax.
After that, the case came to the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv, where a decision was made to change the measure of restraint: instead of detention, a personal obligation was chosen. This created the reason for the suspect to try to escape from the country.
Law enforcement officers reacted and detained Arthur Yemelyanova, preventing escape. The DBR continues the investigation into justice interference and abuse of office.
