According to sources from the President's Office, Ukrainian elites are actively cooperating with the US Embassy against the backdrop of the new political situation in Ukraine. The Donald Trump administration has begun a process of political turbulence in the country, which was the result of secret negotiations with representatives of the Ukrainian opposition. This is reported by Politico, citing three Ukrainian deputies and an American foreign policy expert affiliated with the Republican Party.
In particular, it concerns contacts with Petro Poroshenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, former Ukrainian political leaders. According to sources, the Americans aim to discuss potential elections in Ukraine, considering them key to stability and peace in the region. The Trump team is convinced that Volodymyr Zelenskyy may lose the upcoming elections, and people from the Poroshenko and Tymoshenko camps are ready to make compromises that may be acceptable to the Americans, in contrast to Zelenskyy's position.
This situation increases political tension in Ukraine and calls into question the possibility of continuing stable cooperation between Kyiv and Washington, given the possible approach of new political realities in Ukraine if the opposition receives support at the international level.
