The DBR and SBU team revealed a case related to the commander of Territorial Defense "South", who used his official powers to build a personal estate in Odesa with the help of the military. According to the press service of the SBI, information about this case was provided on June 3. 
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, together with the Security Service of Ukraine, reported suspicion to the head of the regional department of territorial defense forces "Pivden". In Odesa, this official used his power to force the military to build a private house for him. According to data available from 2023, this commander involved three military personnel in this case. For more than a year, these fighters worked in construction, while receiving additional pay, which was removed as for the performance of combat tasks on the front lines.
The leadership of this official is considered as an excess of official authority, which caused significant damage in the conditions of martial law, according to Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. According to this article, it can be punishable by up to 12 years of imprisonment. The issue of choosing a preventive measure is being resolved.
