Commanders pay TCC for experienced fighters

The mechanism of army recruitment, although it looks effective at first glance, is often criticized because of the difficulties in providing military units with the necessary specialists. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announces the introduction of a new recruiting system, which provides for a more transparent and coordinated process.

Candidates for the service have the opportunity to choose a unit and position according to their skills and interests. Under this program, they are provided with consulting support from recruiters working in administrative service centers, as well as on job search websites and military units.

After choosing a position, candidates undergo an interview, physical training and psychological testing. Upon successful completion of these stages, they are issued a letter of recommendation, on the basis of which they apply to the military department for documentation and medical examination.

Those with military experience within the last 10 years can get into military units faster with letters of recommendation. It is also provided that persons without military experience undergo training in special training centers before being sent to a military unit.

However, not all experts are optimistic about the effectiveness of this scheme. Some believe that mobilization remains the main method of providing the Armed Forces of Ukraine during a full-scale war. In addition, there are problems of corruption and bureaucracy that complicate the recruitment process.

Commanders of large units, in particular, are often forced to pay bribes to recruiters to get the best recruits. There is also a lack of consideration of the civilian experience of those who are called up for service, which can lead to unproductive use of their skills in military units.

Despite efforts to improve the recruitment system, some issues remain unresolved, which may undermine its effectiveness in the long run.

"The introduction of the recruiting system solves some of the problems of those who wanted to serve in a certain unit. However, no one can guarantee that the commander will not change the work duties of the subordinate. In this case, it is impossible to refuse new tasks, and you will have to undergo retraining," concluded Simutin.
