The Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed support for draft law 11035, which concerns the demobilization of conscripts, in the first reading. This news was confirmed by the head of the "Servant of the People" faction and People's Deputy Davyd Arahamiya. According to him, support for this draft law is an important step in the implementation of the President's initiative to immediately release conscripts.
After discussing the draft law, the Committee recommended including it in the agenda of the 11th session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. It was also suggested to take into account proposals regarding the terms during which conscripts cannot be called up.
According to the Committee's decision, the draft law provides for the release of conscript military servicemen to the reserve in the event of the end of their term of service during martial law or in the event of military service being extended beyond the established terms. Such persons are prohibited from being called up for military service within twelve months of being released from the reserve, unless they express a desire to continue military service.
This draft law, like draft law 10313, passed in the first reading, is aimed at increasing the social protection of military personnel and representatives of the police. Issues related to chaplaincy, child care of military personnel, vacations abroad, and cash payments in case of death of police officers are expected to be regulated.
One of the key provisions of the draft law concerns the disclosure of information by law enforcement officers. The draft law regulates the right of servicemen to express their own opinion and disseminate information, with the exception of confidential information.
