Farmak, one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in Ukraine, has found itself at the center of a new scandal: according to data from the Prozorro platform, the company sold an injection solution to the Ministry of Defense at a price of UAH 597 per package — 40% more expensive than in Ukrainian pharmacies, where the same drug costs from UAH 423.
The military hospital that purchased the drugs is subordinate to the Ministry of Defense, which means that it is a purchase from the state budget in wartime. Against the backdrop of a constant shortage of resources on the front lines, such “commercial” activity looks at least cynical.
Moreover, as journalists noticed, this information suddenly began to disappear from news portals. According to sources, the company is allegedly actively cleaning the public space from negativity, using its own resources and connections.
But this is not the first high-profile incident related to Farmak. Previously, investigators reported on the facts of the company's products entering the territory of the Russian Federation and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. According to the investigation, logistics were organized through foreign companies in Moldova, Turkey, Poland, and even Belarus.
When crossing borders, medicines are allegedly repackaged, the labeling is changed, and the country of origin is often not indicated at all. Some packages take on a "Russian" appearance - without Ukrainian signs and labeling, effectively losing contact with the manufacturer.
After the publication of these facts, a statement was filed with the National Police. As a result, criminal proceedings No. 12024000000000953 dated 05/15/2025 were opened under Part 1 of Article 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official position). However, as of now, the investigation has not yielded any public results, and the pharmaceutical giant continues its activities in the usual mode.
In times of war, when every hryvnia of the state budget must be used to defend and preserve lives, such practices deserve not only condemnation, but also an immediate response from law enforcement and the public.
