In Ukraine, military personnel are awarded three main types of pensions: for long service, for disability, and for the loss of a breadwinner.
A long-service pension is available to those who have 25 years of service or insurance experience (of which at least 12.5 years were in military service) or have reached the age of 45 at the time of dismissal.
A disability pension is awarded if the disability occurred as a result of an injury, illness, or accident during service.
Survivor's pension is paid to the families of killed or deceased servicemen, as well as those who went missing at the front.
The size of pensions depends on the type:
-
for years of service - 50−70% of the cash benefit;
-
disability - 40−100% (depending on the disability group);
-
in case of loss of breadwinner - 30−70% for each dependent.
Pension documents can be submitted through authorized bodies or service centers of the Pension Fund.
The right to a military pension is preserved even in the event of re-call-up to service.
