Corruption crime among medical workers of Ivano-Frankivsk region: father and son are suspected of bribery

The Ivano-Frankivsk specialized prosecutor's office in the field of defense of the Western region was notified of the suspicion of two doctors from the Ivano-Frankivsk region in the commission of a corruption crime.

Relatives who worked in regional clinical and district hospitals are suspected of receiving bribes, which is a violation of Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, doctors used money to help conscripts obtain a fictitious III group of disability, which allowed them to avoid mobilization. The doctors did not just issue fake certificates, but organized a whole "treatment process" - admitted men to hospitals, prepared fictitious documents and provided advice on how to properly "substantiate" their diagnoses at medical commissions. The cost of one forged certificate was $500. , and complex "service" - 10 thousand. dollars

The 58-year-old doctor was detained while handing over the agreed amount of money simply "from hand to hand". And his son, who also participated in the scheme, was detained separately. They are currently in custody.

During searches of their homes and workplaces, fake medical documents, mobile phones, more than 45,000 USD, 230 thousand UAH and €660 in cash, as well as cars.

Checks are ongoing regarding the possible participation of other persons in the scheme, in particular the employees of the Bureau of Medical and Social Examination.
