Corruption has a significant negative impact on the process of Ukraine's integration into the European Union and on its ability to attract foreign investment to rebuild after the war with Russia. Problems related to corruption schemes in state institutions and business create serious obstacles for Ukraine on its way to European integration and economic recovery after the end of the war.
This is stated in the report of the Inspector General of the Pentagon, Robert Storch.
"Fears about corruption and the rule of law in Ukraine can become a serious obstacle to the post-war reconstruction of the economy and the attraction of foreign investments," the document says.
Also, "corruption continues to complicate Ukraine's efforts to achieve closer integration with European institutions."
Storch's report also indicates that since February 2022, the US Congress has allocated almost 183 billion dollars to Ukraine.
