The desire to look well -groomed does not disappear for a minute - even when a woman is preparing to become a mother. However, some innocent cosmetic procedures can harm the baby, especially during critical periods - during embryo implantation or early pregnancy.
Doctors emphasize that some procedures are able to influence the body unexpectedly due to hormonal changes, increased skin sensitivity and changes in the immune system.
Botox
Although there are no data on the damage of botulotoxin for the fetus in humans, animal studies have shown that Botox increases the risk of miscarriage. The main threat is neurotoxin, which can penetrate into the bloodstream and affect the nervous and cardiovascular system of the embryo.
Recommendation: To abandon Botox not only during pregnancy, but also during its planning.
Mesotherapy
Injections of vitamin "cocktails" that have a rejuvenating or tonic effect can provoke impaired blood flow in a pregnant woman. Against the background of hormonal restructuring, even harmless components can cause an atypical reaction of the body.
Recommendation: Do not carry out mesotherapy in any trimester of pregnancy.
Laser grinding and deep peeling
Such procedures are performed with the use of local anesthetics. But any painkillers during pregnancy are allowed only on vital indications. And the acids used in peeling can get into the blood and adversely affect the fetus.
Recommendation: postpone deep peels and laser procedures before pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Envelopment
Procedures with warming or cooling of the skin cause changes in blood flow in the pelvis, which is dangerous during implantation or early. This applies to both SPA-burning and anti-cellulite procedures.
Recommendation: Do not wrap during pregnancy and planning.
What else is banned?
-
Solarium - because of the risk of overheating and hormonal changes in pigmentation;
-
Permanent makeup (tattoo) - can cause allergic reactions and unpredictable change in pigment color.
Summary: If you are planning a pregnancy or waiting for a baby, be sure to consult your doctor before any beauty procedure. The health of mom and future baby is always more important than the aesthetic effect.
