Kostyuk reached the San Diego final, defeating the world's fifth ranked racket

Marta Kostiuk scored an impressive victory over American tennis player Jessica Pegula in the semifinals of the Cymbiotika San Diego Open.

In the first game, Pegula seemed to have the upper hand, taking two breaks and leading 5-1. However, Kostiuk made a fantastic comeback, winning five games in a row, including two on her opponent's serve.

In the second set, the Ukrainian showed her superiority, gaining an advantage from the very beginning of the game and winning with a score of 6:1.

This victory was for Kostyuk as an answer to the defeat by Pegula at the Australian Open-2024 in the third round. In the final, the Ukrainian will meet British tennis player Katie Boulter.
