"It is better to work for the TCC than to hide from it": Ukrainian men are compared to rats

Military mobilization in Ukraine continues to be an important topic, because the situation at the front requires constant replenishment of the army. However, with increasing pressure on the military commissariats due to the need to mobilize new soldiers, some Ukrainian military commissariats are facing the problem of shortage of personnel. This leads to the fact that the military commissars are forced to resort to extremes: to detain men, even those who are not subject to mobilization or those who should be exempted from it.

The man says they used to not stop men who seemed like "obviously weak personalities," but now they do.

"Due to the lack of personnel, we hardly choose who to stop - now almost everyone is subject to inspection. We used to let people go home and pack up, but lately they don't come back voluntarily. They hide and do not appear. Sometimes we have to confiscate their phones depending on the situation," says Artem (name changed).

He said that people resisted them forcefully to the last, comparing the detainees to "rats".

“Sometimes it's like dealing with a cornered rat. They continue to fight even while in the car. Those who resist always threaten to take revenge on our boys or their families," says Artem.
