The Russian proxy is actively spreading misinformation in order to block the transfer of two nuclear reactors of the VVER-1000 type, which Bulgaria has purchased for the Bellen NPPs, which has been canceled. According to RBC-Ukraine, the Kremlin misinformation campaigns claim that power units # 3 and 4 of Khmelnitsky NPPs will be dangerous when using American nuclear fuel, in particular from Westinghouse.
However, after long technical assessments, Westinghouse confirmed that the use of American fuel on these reactors is safe and has confirmed the possibility of installing the necessary equipment at the Khmelnytsky NPP with the technical support of its company.
In addition, the Kremlin is disinfection that Ukraine allegedly does not need new large units and that there are no sufficiently qualified specialists in the country to operate them. However, expert Stephen Blanca refutes these statements, emphasizing that in Ukraine more than 5,000 highly skilled nuclearies capable of ensuring the safe operation of nuclear power plants. The form also emphasizes that Ukraine critically requires new energy capacity to restore the power system after Russian attacks, and the completion of the Khmelnitsky NPP will be able to reduce dependence on electricity imports and allow Ukraine to become a net exporter of electricity.
This case is part of a wider hybrid war that Russia is leading in Europe, and the expert urges the Bulgarian Parliament not to be influenced by Russian, providing the transfer of reactors to Ukraine.
