Where did Maria Yaremchuk go, who tried to return to the music scene after a long silence

In May 2018, singer Maria Yaremchuk announced the end of her career and the end of her creative activities. However, last spring, she surprised fans by taking part in an impressive performance at Eurovision 2023.

In May 2023, Maria presented a song called "Shield and Sword", which, as she said, was written several years ago.

"This song is five years old. It is imaginative and autobiographical. However, the listener can expand the meanings embedded in this song and perceive it not as a personal story, but as something about the time in which we live. It is about "one love for life". It can be both love for oneself, for one's business, and for one's native country," she commented on the premiere of the song.

Publications related to the release of the track became one of the last posts in the artist's social networks. Also, last spring, she expressed her attitude to the long silence and disappearance, comparing the scene to life.

"The scene is a wonderful allegory from life. Few people know what happens behind the scenes. Few people know what happens behind the scenes of souls. The most important scene is the one inside. Among billions of people, the most important encounter is the encounter with yourself. And the whole world is waiting for her," the performer's post read.

At Eurovision 2023, which took place in the British city of Liverpool, Maria took part in the musical production "Music unites generations". She performed on stage together with the rapper OTOY and Zlata Dzyunka, the representative of Ukraine at the children's Eurovision Song Contest 2022, singing the song "Rodyna", the author of which is her father Nazariy Yaremchuk. After that, she also performed the legendary Shchedryk together with other colleagues.

The singer shared that her decision was largely influenced by stage fright, and even consultations with psychologists did not help her overcome this fear.

"It was difficult for me to go on stage. I started having panic attacks. Every appearance on the stage was a small death for me," she shared.

After a long silence on the network, Maria also expressed her support for Ukrainians during the Russian-Ukrainian war. She lives in Lviv, where she actively helps charitable organizations. The singer said that it is important for her to talk to people and be a conscious part of society.

Currently, the artist's page on Instagram has only a few publications, in which she shared her thoughts about the scene and presented the new song "Shield and Sword".
