Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has resigned after failing to provide the country with long-range missiles. It became a significant political event that attracted attention both in Ukraine and abroad.
"Dmytro Kuleba was one of the most recognizable members of the Cabinet of Ministers, but his requests for air defense systems and relaxation of restrictions on Western missiles have gone unheeded in recent months," the newspaper writes.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, said that the renewal of the ministerial composition "will give new strength" to Ukrainian institutions. And this wave of resignations is happening at a dangerous time for Ukraine, when Russia has achieved significant success in the eastern part of the Donetsk region.
However, Ukrainian mass media reported that the Verkhovna Rada postponed the resignation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs at a meeting on Wednesday. The reasons for such a decision are not given. According to mass media, Kuleba's likely successor will be Andrii Sybiga, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
