One of the factors behind Zelensky's decision to send the ex-head of the commissar to London, according to Foreign Minister Kuleba, is that London has the embassies of a large number of countries of the Global South.
"I am convinced that Zaluzhnyi will be one of the most respected figures and will bring a lot of benefit not only from the point of view of bilateral relations with Britain, but also for backroom diplomacy with the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America," the minister said on the air of the telethon.
Kuleba also stated that the election of Zaluzhnyi as ambassador to Britain is connected with his military background and the importance of London for Kyiv.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that after talking with Zaluzhny, he "convinced that the soul of the former chief commissar lies in diplomatic work."
"One of the key requirements was precisely the understanding of the military context. Because Britain is not just our strategic partner – it is one of the leaders in military aid to Ukraine; a country that sees a military strategy not only on land, but also at sea, and in general - global "military affairs", he explained.
