Russian troops captured 25% of the territory of the city of Kurakhove in the Donetsk region, BILD analyst Julian Röpke reported. The occupiers continue to put pressure on this part of the front, creating serious threats to Ukrainian forces.
According to Ryopke, Russian troops advanced on the eastern part of Kurakhovo, seizing dams that used to serve as transport crossings. Although the bridges on these dams are destroyed, this does not prevent the enemy from firing from a minimum distance of only one kilometer.
In addition, the occupiers advanced along the northern coast of the Kurakhiv Reservoir, taking control of the village of Berestki.
Reserve Colonel of the Armed Forces Oleg Zhdanov previously stated that the Kurakhovo district is one of the most critical areas of the front. According to him, the actions of the Russians are aimed at splitting the Ukrainian group into two parts, which can greatly complicate the defense.
Another military expert, Vladyslav Seleznyov, noted that the dynamics of the battles in Kurakhovo are extremely tense. This is confirmed by analyst Ivan Stupak, who suggests that Kurakhove may find itself surrounded in the coming weeks.
Although the Armed Forces continue to hold positions in Kurakhovo, the threat of encirclement remains real. The destroyed bridges on the dams slowed down the advance of the enemy, but did not stop him completely. Shelling from a minimum distance and control of key territories by the occupiers create significant difficulties for the Ukrainian defense.
