Ukrainian schools can appear in Ukrainian schools in the course "Protection of Ukraine" - veterans and veterans will be conducted. This was stated by the Deputy Head of Presidential Office Irina Vereshchuk. Its initiative aims to combine patriotic education of students with employment of defenders who return to a peaceful life after service.
Vereshchuk is convinced that veterans can pass not only knowledge but also true values to the young generation. "When a veteran teaches children, the country has the future," she said.
According to her, a joint order of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, which will establish legal grounds for implementation of the initiative, should appear in the near future. In this case, the need for prompt training of veterans themselves is recognized for working with children as instructors.
One of the main challenges, according to Vereshchuk, is the low level of wages in the field of education. Therefore, she urged local communities to find opportunities for supplements to veterans from local budgets. It is not only about finance, but also about recognizing the importance of the role of veteran in the public and educational space.
In parallel with education reforms, Ukraine continues to develop infrastructure to support veterans. In Zaporozhye, a modern multifunctional space "Veteran about. Zaporozhye ”, where they provide services to defenders, their families and families of dead heroes. Habi employs the CEP specialists, the Pension Fund, employment centers, as well as psychologists and lawyers.
The initiative was implemented with the participation of the Ministry of Veterans, the City Council of Zaporizhzhia and with the support of Metinvest company Rinat Akhmetov.
Natalia Kalmykova, a veteran minister, emphasized: veterans are not about pity and privileges, but about huge potential for the development of society. Their experience, sustainability and authority can be a support for regions, cities and countries in general.
The symbolic moment was the moment when the Hero of Ukraine Sergey Volynsky, the defender of Mariupol and "Azovstal", hung the "flag of hope" - in memory of those who still in captivity or disappeared. This is another reminder that the path to freedom and dignity continues. And those who have passed through the fire of war have something to share with young Ukrainians.
