Energy expert and Chairman of the Council of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association Stanislav Ignatiev has warned of possible significant power outages in Kyiv and other major cities in Ukraine this winter. According to him, if the average daily temperature drops to -10°C, the capital and other cities could be without power for up to 10-12 hours a day.
This development is a consequence of the difficult situation in the energy system, which is already experiencing the consequences of attacks on infrastructure. Ignatiev noted that energy consumption increases significantly in the winter, which can cause additional loads on the power grid, which is not always able to withstand them. Therefore, it is necessary to be prepared for frequent power outages, especially during the peak of cold weather.
