In Kyiv, one of the companies tried to evade taxes amounting to almost 45 million hryvnias related to land lease. The Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) has completed a pre-trial investigation, and the case has already been referred to court.
The company leased over 80 hectares of land in the capital, using it for mining. However, the rent was five times lower than the minimum established rate. This allowed the company to avoid proper taxation, which caused the state to lose almost 45 million hryvnias.
The company's CEO and chief accountant deliberately failed to update data on the category of land and its intended purpose, which allowed them to reduce rent and evade taxes. This caused significant economic losses for the state, as confirmed by the results of economic expertise.
The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and two of the defendants in the case have been charged under Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — tax evasion. The prosecutor has also filed a civil lawsuit seeking compensation for damages caused to the state.
The investigation was conducted by the Territorial Department of the Bureau of Economic Security in Kyiv with the operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine and the procedural leadership of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
