Kyiv Hospital No. 3 bought a robotic system for 90 million, rejecting cheaper offers

On November 24, Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 3 concluded an agreement with Miamed LLC to purchase a robotic surgical system worth UAH 90 million. The relevant information was published in the Prozorro system. The equipment should be delivered by December 25.

The purchase concerns the Toumai MT-1000SE endoscopic surgical system, manufactured by Shanghai MicroPort MedBot (Group) Co., Ltd. (China). The kit includes a surgeon's console, patient platform, imaging platform and software. Backup power is provided for key modules.

The system operates in surgeon-controlled mode and is designed for minimally invasive interventions in the fields of urology, gynecology, general, thoracic and pediatric surgery. The customer will make payment within 15 working days after delivery. Sources of financing are the hospital's own funds (40 million UAH) and local budget funds (50 million UAH) under the classification "Multidisciplinary inpatient medical care for the population". The warranty period is one year.

Despite the participation of three participants, the contract went to "Miamed". Two competitors who submitted lower price offers were disqualified.
Medfly LLC offered the Mantra 2.0 system for 82 million UAH, but after a technical inspection, the customer found a discrepancy with the requirement for the design of the manipulators - they say, the information in the documents was false.
Another company, Edge Medical Ukraine LLC, offered the MP1000 system for 85.7 million UAH. Its application did not meet a number of technical parameters: there was no data on its use in pediatric surgery, backup power, smoke reduction function, locking pedal, etc.

Miamed LLC is a capital-based company owned by Ivan Kovach from Transcarpathia and managed by Lyudmila Musienko. Kovach is also a co-founder of the Uzhhorod startup Stock Pulse, which is part of Dia.City, and is related to UzhBezpeka LLC, as he uses the same contact number as an individual entrepreneur.

Previously, the founder and director of Miamed was Tetyana Moskalenko from Kyiv, and before her, Kateryna Yatsyna from Uzhgorod. The latter owns the Kyiv LLC "Center for Surgical Innovations", is an individual entrepreneur and co-founder of the Kharkiv NGO "Ukrainian Union of Intraoperative Neurophysiologists".

Since 2019, Miamed has received government contracts worth UAH 873.59 million, which confirms the company's stable presence in the government procurement market for medical equipment.
