Kyiv plans to take out a loan to complete the metro on Vynohradar

The construction of the Vynohradar metro, which has been on hold for a long time, is once again in the spotlight of the city authorities. According to the first deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Mykola Povoroznyk, the 2025 Kyiv budget includes a certain amount for the implementation of this project. However, the key source of financing will be loans.

Mykola Povoroznyk emphasized that stable and continuous financing is needed for the successful completion of construction. “We are working on attracting both budgetary and extra-budgetary resources. The main source will be loan funds to ensure the construction is completed without delays,” the official noted.

According to him, there are agreements with potential investors, which will be formalized in the form of agreements immediately after the start of the active phase of work.

Although construction on Vynohradar has not progressed for a long time, city authorities assure that the project is not lost. Meanwhile, the Kyiv metro continues to be modernized. Recently, a third train, formed from cars that the city received from Warsaw, entered the route.

The construction of the Vynohradar metro is one of the largest infrastructure projects in the capital. The attraction of loan funds will finally allow the completion of this ambitious project, which will improve transport accessibility for residents of new districts of Kyiv.
