A petition has appeared on the Kyiv City Council website asking to resume the work of the Kyiv Sparkling Wine Factory (KZSHV). The petitioners propose to buy out, repair the equipment, and resume production of famous varieties of sparkling wines, such as “Semi-sweet”, “Muscat white”, “Brut” and “Zolote”.
The authors of the initiative emphasize that KZSHV is a descendant of the rich traditions of Ukrainian winemaking, and its products have always been a symbol of quality and delicious drinks. They believe that the restoration of the plant will contribute to the development of local production, the popularization of Ukrainian drinks, and the provision of consumers with real champagne that is not inferior to world standards.
As the petition authors note, Ukrainian store shelves are currently dominated by little-known brands of champagne wines that do not meet high quality standards. They are convinced that low-quality drinks not only harm consumers' health, but also do not create an atmosphere of celebration and inspiration.
“Let's bring back delicious and famous varieties of champagne wines to the festive table,” Kyiv residents call.
The petition is gaining popularity among local residents, as many of them have fond memories of the delicious champagne that was produced at the Kyiv factory. This could be not only a step towards the restoration of traditional production, but also an important contribution to the development of the Ukrainian beverage market.
Time will tell whether this appeal will be supported by the Kyiv City Council. However, it can already be said that the demand for high-quality Ukrainian champagne remains high.
