In Kiev, law enforcement officers detained two men who are suspected of fraud in particularly large sizes. According to the investigation, the attackers promised to organize the appointment of a "necessary" person to the post of head of a state -owned enterprise, subordinate to the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS), for a remuneration of $ 500,000.
This was reported in the office of the Attorney General.
The suspects convinced the victim that they had access to the NAAS of Ukraine's leadership and could "resolve the issue" of the appointment. Like, the position gives control of the state -owned enterprise in Volyn, which has more than 2 thousand hectares of land. The land, according to fraudsters, can be used later for commercial purposes, and the invested funds will pay off quickly.
However, they failed to implement the plan - militiamen detained during the transfer of money for both men. The detainees have already been informed of the suspicion, and the court chose them a pre -trial detention with an alternative to a pledge of UAH 3 million.
The case is qualified under Part 4 of Art. 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - fraud committed in a particularly large size or organized group. The sanction provides up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officers check whether the defendants had any connection with NAAS officials, whether it was exclusively a scheme for the sale of non-existent influence.
